Queensland State Disaster Management Plan (September 2016) (PDF 2.4MB)

Queensland Recovery Plan, developed by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority, is a sub-plan to the Queensland State Disaster Management Plan and applies to all recovery partners.

Statewide Natural Disaster Risk Assessment

Under the Queensland State Disaster Management Plan, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is responsible for the conduct of a state level disaster risk assessment.

All Australian jurisdictions were required to produce a state level natural hazard risk assessment by 30 June 2017 as agreed to within the Law, Crime and Community Safety Council.   A State level assessment has been conducted with the seven most prevalent natural hazards in scope.  QFES was supported in this undertaking by the Queensland Police Service, the Queensland Reconstruction Authority, Local Government Association of Queensland and through collaboration with numerous local governments and science based agencies at both the state and Australian Government level. The Queensland Disaster Management Committee endorsed this report on 28 August 2017 and it has been provided to the Australian Government.
